Welcome from the Careers and Enterprise Co-ordinator
I am the Enterprise Coordinator, part of the Bridge GM team at Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA). We are working in partnership with The Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC) to expand the Enterprise Adviser Network to bridge the gap between education and the world of work.
I manage the Enterprise Adviser Network in Oldham, and support all secondary schools and colleges in the area, including Waterhead Academy, to improve the provision of careers education and provide more opportunities for the students to have high quality and meaningful encounters with businesses. I am supported by senior business volunteers, who work individually with one school or college to develop forward thinking careers education and employer engagement programmes, aligned to the Gasby Benchmarks, the framework for good careers education, information, advice and guidance. If you would like any further information, please don’t hesitate to contact us at www.bridgegm.co.uk.
I am delighted to introduce you to Usman Adda, the Enterprise Adviser for Waterhead Academy. Usman and I work with Mr Wilson, the Careers Leader at Waterhead Academy and the wider careers team.
“A graduate in Environmental Sciences from Manchester Metropolitan University, with a PGCE in Secondary Education, and currently plying my trade as a Civil Servant working as part of the Communications Support Team.”
“I am a highly motivated individual who simply wants the best for all students. I believe that every student is capable of succeeding; we simply have to find the best way to engage them and allow them to flourish. Collaboration therefore is crucial; I am certain that sharing good practice and building capacity is key. I am therefore looking forward to the Enterprise Advisor experience and am excited to have the chance to work with the Careers Co-ordinator.”
“My voluntary role as an Enterprise Adviser sees me work closely with Waterhead Academy to help shape the delivery of careers education and build a whole-school careers strategy, giving my input as a previous Head-Teacher and also from a business perspective. “
