PE & Sport
A high-quality PE curriculum looks to inspire all pupils to be successful and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. The curriculum will provide opportunities for students to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness, whilst also focusing on key roles in leadership, coaching and officiating. The curriculum provides opportunities to compete in competitive sport, helping to embed values such as fairness and respect. The PE curriculum focuses on a broad range of sports and allows students to study the effects that exercise can have on the body whether that is through sports psychology or anatomy and physiology. The learning journey from Year 7 to 11 in PE aims for our pupils to 'move more and know more' during their time at Waterhead Academy.
